What is the best way to clean your eyeglasses?

The best way to clean your eyeglasses is to pour warm water into a bowl and add a little bit of mild liquid dish washing soap. Simply take your eyeglasses off and hold them by their arms and dip them into the bowl and carefully stir them in the bowl.

The reason why you want to do do this is because there could be a great chance that if you simply rub clean your eyeglasses dry, you can scratch your lenses as there are very small and abrasive partials that collect on your lenses.

By dipping and stirring your eyeglasses in a bowl of warm soapy water first, you cause the abrasive particles to wash off your lenses prior to rub cleaning. After submerging your eyeglasses in the soapy water you can then simply use a 100% cotton cloth to dry them.

When drying your lenses you should not use a lot of pressure. Just lightly dry them off with the towel or cloth. Do not use a dirty towel as the towel could have accumulated abrasive materials on it. Only use a freshly cleaned towel or cloth. Also it is very helpful to use a towel that has not been dried with a fabric softener sheet.

Rubbing your eyeglass lenses that has been dried with fabric softener or fabric softener sheets will cause create smudging of your lenses and leave a oily film on them, making it near impossible to remove.

Never clean your eyeglasses with paper towels, toilet tissue, newspaper or any other form of paper products. Also, never use the shirt that you are wearing and also be sure to wash your own hands first before cleaning your eyeglasses.
